About Yembo

 

We are a remote company on a mission to bring trust and transparency to home services industries through virtual inspection technology. Yembo’s AI uses smartphone videos to build an on-demand digital replica of each property that will immediately answer questions such as how many furniture items need to be moved, what is the square footage of the room, what type of material is the home built out of, etc. With 100 million+ properties in the USA alone, there are millions of inspections required for all sorts of home services like moving, insurance underwriting, insurance claims handling, mortgage, and flooring renovations, and we want Yembo to be the category-defining company that virtualizes inspections for these industries.

About You

We’re looking for a support software engineer to quickly and effectively handle any product related customer escalations as well help us maintain secure, reliable code at scale. You will be responsible for troubleshooting our technical support tickets and implementing solutions that not only solve the immediate need, but also ensure that similar issues do not arise in the future.

Responsibilities

As a support engineer, you can expect to cover the following:

  • Triage development issues that are reported by our customers and internal users.
  • Debug technical product issues across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure)
  • Build internal tools that let us solve our users issues faster, maintain resiliency and reliability of our codebase, and adhere to security and compliance policies.
  • Automate and streamline development tasks (rotating credentials, updating dependencies, security updates, etc)
  • Reduce repeated support issues by building new features or improving existing ones. Work with the design, product and development team to improve the product.
  • Analyze support tickets to understand what our biggest areas of improvement are. Be able to come up with ideas to solve them and own their development.
  • Work with external development teams to answer their integration questions and advise how to best work with Yembo’s APIs
  • Apply modern open source tools and frameworks where appropriate
  • Make recommendations regarding the development of new code, reuse or refactoring of existing code, and use of 3rd party and/or open source frameworks
