Amazon Freight is building the next-generation of shipping services on top of our core transportation network. This role is responsible for leading major strategic projects involving new products, features, integrations and customizations, coordinating across internal teams and external customers.

In this role, you will build sophisticated freight planning, design efficient shipper workflow solutions and operational processes, keeping customer satisfaction and cost-efficiency as overarching priorities. This Principal Technical Program Mgr will lead cutting-edge projects in enterprise integration, disruption-management, delivery and pickup workflow, risk prediction and real-time planning operations. It involves working with Product Managers and Software Engineering leaders within Amazon and corresponding external POCs, to ensure design, launch and success of customer-facing features.

You will work with executive leaders, engineering, science and operations stakeholders to coordinate product launches, process improvement, generate ideas, validate entitlement and then direct a path to launch. You will work alongside the sales-team, to understand unique large-customer requirements, provide guidance on the our solution set and work creatively to design bespoke solutions as needed. You will define architecture, integration strategy, and work across products to drive execution. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. As a multi-discipline leader leading impactful large-scale projects, the buck will stop with you.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
