Manager of Events & Hospitality ID-1029

Come join the team at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) as the Manager of Events and Hospitality. The Manager of Events and Hospitality has the opportunity to create memorable events from Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference to the Liberty & Justice Gala for the legal community in Kansas City. This position is coordinating and hosting events and requires the ability to juggle all the details of complex events from contract negotiation, site selection and site management, registration and many others.

 

As the Manager, you are responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating and executing memorable signature events for the legal community. This includes financial leadership, budgeting oversight and event coordination including: coordinating with volunteer committees, registrations, speakers, sponsorship, awards, logistics, audio visual, fundraising, signing and printing, venue management and all other details to ensure the events are successful. Other elements of the role include facilities & hospitality management, calendar management, room set up, purchasing, contracting, and maintenance.

 

Successful Candidates will have:

You will need excellent customer service skills, including socializing and greeting attendees as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent time management and strong technology (Microsoft Office Suite) skills. This role is an individual contributor on a small team and can pitch in where needed. Your professional integrity and sense of responsibility are keys to your success in this role.

 

Requirements:

· Must have the ability to problem solve and think independently.

· Valid driver’s license.

· Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.

 

About the work:

Every day will bring new opportunities to interact with members and event attendees and to imagine, design, develop and implement memorable events to continue to wow the membership. This position is a full-time in the office (great views of KC) position that will allow you to work within a small team to support the legal profession in Kansas City. While the work is typically regular business hours, some events and evenings and occasional travel are required.

Salary for this role starts at $50,000. Your salary may vary based on your experience. Offers are contingent upon a background and credit check and a valid drivers license.
